A SMART goal is an acronym providing specific steps to create a proper goal that is detailed and lists what you need to have to achieve what you want. S stands for specific, M stands for measurable, A stands for attainable, R stands for relevant, T stands for time-based. With all these factors you are sure to create a goal that is well achievable and something you can achieve. Smart Goal for Academy - My goal is to improve and refine my English skills to the best of my capabilities. Within this goal, I am the one trying to improve but along the way, I may need advice from people who are experienced to teach me the ropes and get me going. I've always wanted to become a better writer, expressing my thoughts in an organized way and to make everything flow like a river. Trying to make my writing understandable and engaging, that is what I want to accomplish. This will be done at school and home, knowing that I have to put my full effort towards this goal. I'm doing this as I know writing is a huge skill throughout my education and in life, that is why I want to achieve my goal. I will be measuring the improvement of my skills by writing, and constantly checking my mistakes and learning from them and getting opinions from my peers and teachers. Which at the end I will reflect on my writing each month looking at what needs more improvement. With writing being a skill that can always be worked on, with dedication, time and great effort, improvement is always attainable and that's what I'm looking for. Writing is a huge part of my life and is a vital thing in education so it is very relevant. I will complete this goal within this school year.
Smart Goal for Personal Life - My goal within my personal life is to change my lifestyle and focus on my health. Throughout this goal, I am trying to overcome my underweight problem by myself, as it is a goal that I want to reach by myself. This will be done at the gym and at home as I need to have proper workouts and exercises and proper diets to eat to meet my standards. I will be doing this as I’m always seen as skinny and small, and I know that I can easily overcome this but I have to put my full dedication and effort towards this. I will measure my improvements: by looking if I'm gaining anything, if I'm eating the 3000 calories I have set for myself, and I am doing the reps for specific workouts for myself. This will be attainable if I constantly do it and adopt a routine within my life and have the focus and drive myself all the way to the end. This is a huge thing to who I am, and it will be worthwhile as it will change the way people look at me and for my personal health and overcoming being underweight. I will set myself to reach this goal at the end of this year and by then I will have completed what I was aiming for.

Paul Davis, a man who is part of the IET came to our school to talk to us and teach us about internet safety. Having experiences with the SIS (Security Intelligence Service) he explains to us how everything you do digitally can be easily tracked and leaves a footprint in the digital world. Telling us that how deleting photos won't actually delete and will always stay there and can be used against you if anything inappropriate was taken. This was a huge lesson for not only students but for staff and parents as the generation, we currently live in is almost dependent on technology and the internet. It was a very informative event within the ED Center. Located in front of our school in Airdrie, Alberta, all academies that day decided to take the time we had, to talk with experts about putting yourself out for the world. We learnt how to market ourselves in a professional way. An artist Veronica Funk taught us how to keep a clean digital footprint to bring attractions of future employers or university admissions. Also learning how to take professional portraits to represent yourself with elegance for everyone to see. Another thing we learnt was about SMART goals, we can implement these in our lives to keep a structured way to reach a final we want to achieve. Having all this I wouldn't have done anything differently as it gave us the time and the information we needed to reflect and try to reach the final the goal we all are achieving for.
